What are the most common items City of Refuge needs?

Like any typical home, the families at City of Refuge need the basic necessities for everyday life. Here is a list of items that we use throughout the year:

  • HE (high-efficiency) laundry detergent
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Hand Soap
  • Regular-size hygiene items (cannot accept travel size)
  • Ibuprofen or Tylenol (large qty sized containers)
  • Cold Medicine
  • Allergy Medicine
  • Dish Detergent
  • Zip Lock bags (gallon-size)
  • Latex-free gloves
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Natural, organic hair products (deep conditioner, hair moisturizer, gel, etc.) for all hair types
  • AA and AAA-batteries
  • Pajamas (new, all sizes)
  • Undergarments (new, all sizes)
  • Active Wear (i.e., tennis shoes, clothing, socks, etc.)
  • Pillows (newly packaged)
  • Blankets (newly packaged)
  • Celebrate Recovery Bibles
  • Substance Abuse Reading Material
  • Jesus Calling, Jesus Always books
  • Office supplies (pens, pencils, sticky notes, spiral notebooks, etc)
  • Craft supplies
  • USB drives (any size)

Regrettably, we cannot accept:

  • Any item recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Used toys
  • Used clothing
  • No cribs, car seats, walkers or other products that do not meet the current safety standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, including recalled items.
  • Auto Parts (including tires)
  • Dated Technology ie://Desktop computers over 5 yrs. old or televisions
  • Damaged or soiled furniture
  • Non-working appliances and electronics
  • Mattresses/box springs, including waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames
