CEO of Chick-fil-A and Champion Donor
I hope maybe more of us can come and see what’s here. Let it touch our hearts, let it touch our souls, let us be moved by what we see, and then find out amongst ourselves – you know – what would the Lord have us to do here.
As one of the poorest and most crime-ridden neighborhoods in Atlanta, a staggering 39.5% of the residents live below the Federal Poverty level. Approximately 60% of all murders in Atlanta happen in this neighborhood, while only 35% of the students actually graduate high school. These numbers are one of the main reasons Bruce Deel founded City of Refuge. With the help of gracious corporate partners like Dan Cathy, CEO of Chik-fil-A, City of Refuge has been able to make progress and transform lives.
There’s a solution to every problem. It may take you a while to get there, but there’s a solution.
With more than 18 years of experience and 20,000 lives transformed, City of Refuge is a leader in the business of social transformation. At City of Refuge, the mission is clear: to eradicate poverty in the 30314 neighborhood and transform the community. We provide on-campus interventions and partner with generous local and national brands, like Chick-fil-A, to provide real-life solutions. Our solutions are particularly focused on targeting homelessness, generational poverty, human trafficking, job training, health and wellness, and youth development.
If we can put a man on the moon, we can find a solution to this.
And at City of Refuge, our solution is our Transformation Pathway. The Transformation Pathway is a set of programs designed to mitigate the risk of poverty from conception to adulthood. By achieving key milestones at each developmental age, our Transformation Pathway illustrations demonstrate how our innovative programs and key partnerships impact outcomes at every stage. With the help of gracious donors like Dan Cathy, we have been able to move mountains. With your help, we can truly continue our mission of transforming lives and eradicating poverty.
